  • ICTC (General):

    The analysis is based on 172 ICTC’s (General) registered in CMIS till Mar, 08. ICTC data gives the trends in percentage positivity among the clients coming for HIV testing by gender, age and by type of client (client initiated or provider initiated) along with the counseling details.

    Reporting Status:

    Overall reporting of ICTC (General) is 90 percent in the reporting quarter. The districts Amreli, Porbandar, Panchmahal & Dahod have reported less than 80 percent in CMIS during the reporting period. The chart below shows the detailed percentage of reporting information for all the districts of Gujarat.

    The reporting from Dang, Gandhinagar, Narmada, Navsari, Surat & Valsad is 100 percent.

    Pre Test, Testing & Post Test Counseling

    The Chart below shows the information related to Pre Test, Testing & Post Test Counseling. The number of clients accessing the services shows consistent increase in reporting quarter as compared to the previous quarter. In the quarter, 92 percent of the clients undergoing pre-test counseling accepted HIV testing and out of the tested 95 percent reported to have undergone post test counseling.

    Sero-Positivity among clients of ICTC:

    The Chart below shows the Sero - Positivity among clients of ICTC of all the districts. Overall positivity is 7.3 percent. Highest percent is reported by Rajkot which is 21.3 followed by 19% reported in Surat.  The remaining districts have reported less than 10% positive cases in the quarter.

    Dang has reported the lowest 1.1% of Sero-Positivity among ICTC clients followed by Porbandar reported 1.8% followed by 2.4% in Kutch in the reporting quarter.

    The above graph clearly indicates that HIV positivity in Rajkot (21.3%) and Surat (19%) is more than 10% while it is between 7 to 10% in Kachchh, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Kheda & Vadodara and it is less than 7% in other districts.  

    Sero-positivity among direct walk-in:

    The Chart below shows the Sero-Positivity among direct walk-in clients of ICTC’s of all the districts of Gujarat. Overall positivity is 9.5% among direct walk-in clients. The districts Rajkot (29.4%) & Surat (20.9%) are showing more than 20% positivity among direct walk-in clients.

    The district Dang is showing lowest positivity which is 0.4% among direct walk-in clients as depicted in the above graph.

    Route of transmission – by gender:

    The route of transmission reported among HIV positive male and female clients of ICTC is mainly heterosexual contact which is 77 percent and 79 percent respectively as shown in the below graphs.

     

    Age-Distribution among tested and positive:

    The Chart below shows the composition of persons undergoing HIV Tests/ Testing/ Sero-positive during Jan – Mar’07.
