Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD)

This analysis is based on total 41 STD Clinics registered in CMIS of GSACS for all districts of Gujarat State.
Reporting Status: Overall reporting from STD Clinics is comparatively low at 76 percent in the reporting quarter. Dahod & Panchmahal district has not reported in CMIS during the reporting period. The districts Narmada & Rajkot have reported 67% while Surat, Ahmedabad, Kheda & Bhavnagar have reported more than 70%. The chart below shows the details of percentage of reporting information for all the district of Gujarat. The 52% districts have reported 100 percent.

Total Attendance at STD clinics

Total Attendance at STD clinic shows more female STD patients attending in the quarter.Attendance of New Male has increased to 1720 in Mar’08 of the quarter which is depicted in the above graph.

Referrals to ICTC from STD Clinics:

The total cases referred as against attended is shown in the graph. The referral is 45% in Banaskantha and 27% in Junagadh while in other districts it is less than 10%. Detection – Disease-wise: The majority of females have reported for treatment of vaginal discharge (45%) and the number are very large. The distribution by main category of STIs is shown in the adjoining graph.

Positivity by Lab Investigation: The positivity percentage among various lab investigations performed at STI clinics is shown in the graph below.

Condom Distribution, Counselling and Partner Treatment: Condom distribution in the reporting period is depicted in the graph. Very less proportion of new patients are reported to be getting condom counselling. Number of partners reporting for treatment, which is an important aspect of STD programming is also very less as shown in the graph as below.
