• Anti Retroviral Therapy Program (ART)

The analysis is based on the report received from 3 ART centers till March, 08 functioning at B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, New Civil Hospital, Surat & P.D.U. Hospital, Rajkot.

Proportion of Patients Ever Started and on ART as against Registered

Till the end of Mar, 08 total number of patient registered at GSACS supported ART centers are 12932. Out of these 52% patients were ever started on ART till Mar, 2008. Out of patients ever started on ART, 51% are from Ahmedabad, 30% are from Surat and 19% are from Rajkot which is the high prevalence districts. Out of the patients ever started the treatment, 70% are alive and on ART. Till Mar, 2008, since inception of the ART program, total 483 deaths are reported among patient registered at ART center.

Out of total patients alive on ART, 66% are adult males, 30% adult females and Children constitute 4%. The TS/TG on treatment is 0.3%.

Proportion of Patients Dropped Out:

The details of patients dropped out due to LFU, MIS, death, and transferred out is shown in the following chart.

LFU at all Gujarat level is 8% followed by death percentage (7), Percentage of transferred out is 13 and percentage defaulters are 2.
